The year is coming to an end and it is time to kiss and make-up! If you love to glam up, this is your month but with back to back invitations and all of those cards to send it’s best to decide what works and stick to it. Smokey eyes are taking sultry to a whole new level, pair with almost naked lips and you’ve got the look. Or opt for the classic seasonal red lip with matt skin and layered lashes. Keep supplies in your desk, in your car, or in your bag, you’ll need to take your days into nights this month.
Our Gorgeous Girl is the thinking woman’s style guru and this month, inspired by the most stylish thinking women on the planet - the new Mrs O, she delivers the brilliant new book Commander in Chic.
This months Gorgeous Treat is the ultimate skin revitalizer and the perfect antidote to too little sleep and too much Champagne. And my Lust of the Month is a super food truly worthy of its name.
I love a bare face as much as the next girl who has exfoliated and moisturized for most of her life but sometimes it is so much fun to paint your face and there are so many wonderful products out there to colour, define and highlight beautifully. For dramatic eyes it is hard to beat YSL’s False Lash Effect Cream Eyeliner in Deep Black – proceed with very little caution and layer all over the eyelid for maximum effect. For even more drama, add a little clear gloss – it’s utterly chic and terribly modern. No need to sparkle when you can shine.
If you would rather keep it simple and just do you – with a little party on the side, then Bobbie Brown’s Ultimate Party Collection is the only little black box you’ll need. Ms Brown is doing what she does best, creating a face flattering look with a touch of shimmer and a little pop of colour that will take you from day to evening in just a few beautiful brush strokes.
Tom Ford has done it again, his complete collection of make-up has hit the stores and it is all divine. Yes it is expensive and yes it is worth it. The packaging is gorgeous, the pigments are intense and the colours are all future classics. The real stand outs for me are the eyeliners and shadows - soft and rich, the metallics have the perfect amount of metallic, the mattes are wonderfully pure. Mr Ford challenges traditional application, brow bones are coloured rather than highlighted, lip liner is out - I say it’s your face – line if you want to, but please, please do it with Tom!
